So, remember how I planned that date? Well I've been chatting to the fella on-and-off today (I was driving for 3 hrs then in meetings most of the afternoon) and he tells me at 4.30 he's totally forgot about us meeting up tonight (bearing in mind he was the one who chose Friday as he was busy Saturday night) so ALL my plans have now gone out of the window and I no longer feel like going out. He now wants to meet for lunch tomorrow and while I've said yes I really just want to tell him where to stick it.
Actually, right now my case is still packed and I feel like picking it up and heading back down South.
I'm so sick of men pissing me about. This is how my dating life was before I moved to St Albans and I didn't want it to start going that way again.
Oh well, I'll probably go out tonight and meet him for lunch tomorrow but decide then if I'm going to stay up here another night. I have lots to do in my flat back in StA and could really do with cracking on with them.
Anyway, enough of my moaning. I need to go have a shower before I go out to dinner. Have a nice evening.

What a week!
So, what an interesting week! After last weekends antics this week doesn't seem to have slowed down.
I now have a date planned for next Friday! I haven't been on a proper date for nearly a year so I need to brush up on my small talk skills. He seems like a nice chap, he's 32 a lawyer, lives in Manchester and seems quite funny to boot. I'm really looking forward to our night out. We're going out in Manchester as I'm up there for work on Friday and thought I may as well stay up there and make a weekend of it.
In my usual style I've been planning where to go for dinner, drinks afterwards etc. I'm like that, I plan things out as much as possible. Doesn't make for great spontaneity but I prefer it like that. I like to know what I'm doing when and I hate having to change plans, even if there are months to go before the event.
I've also been worrying about the whole 'meeting someone' thing. Since I decided to go away travelling I've been very conscious not to meet anyone as I don't want to have a distraction/reason not to go travelling. However it seems sometimes these things happen, but I'm working on the premise that even if this does turn out to be more than just a one night stand (which it might turn out to be in the end) theres no point worrying about it now and I just need to go with the flow, which is VERY difficult for me.
Work has gotten busier. Quite few extra projects have landed on my desk since I came back on Tuesday which means I have less time at work for me and have to actually work during work hours now. Not fun but hey, suppose I've had a few good, easy months so time to crack on.
Haven't had a great gym week, as in it's been virtually non-existent, but that WILL change from today.
Apart from that, nothing too exciting to report. I'll be taking my camera with me this weekend so expect some photos in my next update

NYE 2010
Happy New Year! Welcome to 2011.
Wow, what a fantastic NYE I had. What, at the beginning of the 31st December was going to be a quiet affair, maybe a couple of shandies and maybe an early-to-bed became probably one of the best NYE’s I’ve had in a long while.
The day started with a bit of shopping in Westfield and then lunch with a good friend where he told me that he’s moving to San Francisco by February. I’m fantastically excited for him because he’s not had a great time of it the last few years and he deserves some good luck for a change.
He and I were meant to go out last night but I got a message at tea time saying he wasn’t really in the mood and was going to bed early. At this point I too was tempted to not go out, but decided I needed a boogie, so bought a ticket online to my regular club.
I found out that my ex would be at the club and so decided to drive. This meant I wouldn’t drink and wouldn’t do anything silly. I couldn’t believe the trip into London. The roads from St Albans, through Fulham, Battersea and Clapham were all empty. I didn’t really hit any traffic until Elephant & Castle and that didn’t slow me down too much.
It did mean I was at the club quite early but I danced the night away, got hit on several times by some very hot men, snogged three people, got invited back to two peoples bedrooms and generally had my ego boosted massively.
I did see the ex and as I thought, he’s seeing someone. It took a bit of coaxing out of him, but as I told him, I’m really pleased for him that he’s found someone who can make him happy. The only downside is that I now can no longer have a go at the DJ of the club I go to on my FB page as the ex will see it and take offence.
Anyway, left the club about three and was in my bed by ten-past four with a big smile on my face knowing that 2010 was a good year and I feel 2011 is going to be an even better one.
