Hello!
As the title says, sorry it's been a few weeks since I last posted a blog, but so much has been happening and I just haven't had time to sit down and write.
So, what's been happening I hear you say? Well, for starters I quit my job. I'm not going to go into why and wherefores, but suffice to say I felt it was the right time to leave. But what this did do was move forward my decision to go travelling and now my leave date is the 7th April. So it's meant many days in London arranging visas, getting jabs, sorting out train tickets, booking hotels, planning and replanning routes (mainly due to natural disasters and civil unrest).
I still have my flat to sort out and as I sit here typing this blog I am faced with the unenviable task of deciding what is to be kept, sold, given to people or thrown out. I'm a natural hoarder so my personal preference would be to chuck everything into boxes and put into storage but that isn't feasible mainly because storage costs so much. If I could get cheap storage I'd happily do that, but hey ho, I can't and so I have to start being ruthless today. I have got a few boxes in my bedroom that I've not looked through in the past year since I moved into my current flat so I'm just going to empty their contents into black bin liners and throw them away, however I have got a lot of stuff I could eBay and maybe make a bit of cash from. The problem is I've left it a little late. Even if I put stuff on eBay today it means the auctions won't finish until next weekend and by then I won't have a car and will be just moving out of my flat, so the logistics of it all are a bit of a nightmare. But, I recognise that it's a very fortunate position to be in so I'm not going to complain too much about it.
Then, life sort of threw a curve ball at me yesterday. Remember how I said I purposefully wasn't dating as I didn't want to meet someone who I might fall for and then potentially put my travelling plans on hold for? Well, yesterday I met up with someone who I have fallen for, hook-line-and-sinker. Now, to be fair to me it wasn't a date, more drinks with a mate. He's someone I've known on twitter for a while but never met face-to-face, but as we were both in London yesterday I thought it would be nice to meet up for a beer and say hello. Well we did and had a ruddy good afternoon/evening. We had a snog towards the end of the night (he's a very, very good kisser, btw) but went our separate ways at the end of the evening.
Now I'm not saying I'm not going to go travelling because of him, but it's just a bugger that I've met him now. Who knows, maybe when I return in two years time we both might still be single and could give it a go then.
Anyway, so that's it for me at the moment. I'll try and blog more often over the coming days as I really need to get into practice for my trip.
See you soon :)
