A good news week...

Wow, what a week (and a bit) it’s been since I last updated.

Well, to start with I had an interview last week. It was in Warrington for a rather interesting consulting company. They’re fairly small but have some grand ideas and I could see myself really buying into the ethos and work ethic there. There are a few questions floating around in my head (like, why they wouldn’t interview me in their offices and instead hired an office for it) but overall a positive meeting. I got feedback straight away at the end of the meeting, the majority of it was very good. The interviewer (who was the owner of the company) said that if he were to do a risk assessment of my CV his only concerns would be the fact I’ve been a contractor for the past 7+ years, which would make him wonder if I’d still be there in 12 months time, and that I have a gap in my CV of 8 months where I was travelling. While I can understand the first one, I don’t really get how the second one is a major issue, but anyway, he said over all he was very pleased with the interview. This was later reiterated by the recruitment consultant who said I should hear back about 2nd interviews by this Friday.

Since then I’ve gotten myself another three interviews. One job based in Basingstoke, one in London (interim job) and one for a role in Dubai. And, as I type, I’m expecting to hear about a 4th interview for another role in London for a company I’d love to have on my CV.

I’m not counting any of my chickens yet and I might not get any of the roles, but at least interviews are now starting to roll in, which is keeping me and more importantly, my parents happy.

I also sent off my Taxback forms to get my 2011/2012 tax refund and my 2010/2011 refund forms have been submitted to the ATO so fingers crossed I’ll have a few thousand dropping into my account over the next few weeks, which would be nice.

So, keep everything crossed for me as I need all the luck I can muster.
